Travel Tales - Singapore's Little India

When you go to little India you feel like you are back in Chennai! It's ethnic with beautiful temples and loads of saree shops, you can smell spice and jasmine all around, it's loud with blaring Tamil and Bollywood music, and there's nothing like the energetic street life you see there in the whole of Singapore.

One finds some of the most authentic South Indian eateries here like Anjappar, Komala Vilas, Ananda Bhavan, Sakunthala and a lot more. My recommendation is the Kottu Parotha at Anjappar which I never miss. It means minced parotha and is made using parotha(Indian bread), egg, meat and salna which is a spicy sauce. The main attraction that keeps this area buzzing 365 days and 24/7 is the amazing 24 hour shopping centre Mustafa. You can find everything under the sun here other than real estate and cars. You will be surprised at the kind of deals you can get there. None of my trips are complete without a visit to this place. The closest MRT station to Mustafa is Farrer Road. People looking at converting foreign exchange to Singapore Dollars - no one in the whole of Singapore can give you a better rate than Mustafa!

Our very first destination on the trip was Little India since we had money to exchange and I wanted to take PS to Mustafa and Anjappar. Wearing a comfy white outfit and pairing it with a colourful Quirk Box Ice Cream factory vest to add a pop of colour(you all know how much I love Quirk Box), we set out to start exploring the city of Singapura.

A melting pot of all things Indian - Little India is an irreplaceable part of Singapore!

OASAP - A blend of fashion and charity

Online shopping has taken over my life is such a big way I can't tell you! Gone are the days when I used to be vary of it and couldn't buy things until I tried them on or checked them out in person. Shopping online over the past few years has now made me soo open to it that I don't think twice buying something that I like off the internet. Since it allows me to be in tandem with the trends without having to take time out from my busy career and home to go to the stores, it's a must try recommendation to everyone who are suffering from the symptoms that I expressed above ;)

One of the online retailers that joined my list in the recent past is OASAP - a global online store dedicated to high-street fashion offering the latest designs in women’s apparel, bags, shoes, jewellery and accessories. They offer Free shipping with a 'No Minimum Buy' condition which pretty much is what makes me really happy when I order online.

I've ordered twice from them wherein the first time I ordered a necklace, and the second time I ordered a dress which is on its way :)

I also have a wish list lined up for my next few buys :) Can't wait to order those too!
The other thing that I loved about them was OASAP Donation - OASAP Ltd's charity project. Here funds are accumulated in two ways:
1. OASAP draws off 1% from each paid order into fund pool, while you need not execute any extra payment
2. You can pay extra 0.5(it may be $0.5,€0.5 or £0.5 according to the currency of your payment) when you checkout from OASAP order, this additional payment is also put into the fund pool.
The focus is on two aspects of public welfare assistance - refugees and children in difficult situations. It is mainly used to solve the difficult lives of the refugees and children facing problems of hunger and those that are out-of-school.

The quality of the necklace was nice and although delivery to India takes a while, its was worth the wait :) I will be putting up outfit posts with my buys soon! Hopefully the dress will reach me soon too!

So, the verdict is that OASAP.com is recommended by me for sure to all online shoppers! :)

Sheer Love!

My love for fine materials has been evident since I was a kid. Georgette, Chiffon, Lace, Crepe Silk - my hands used to first reach for these then and they still do. Add to that the sheerness of most of these materials, the semi-transparency quality that intrigues me yet. My Indian wear collection is majorly sheer and with the sheer mania at its best now, my western wear collection finally looks great too in that department. I find it nice for the hot days that India gives us. Airy yet covered, it serves both purposes.

Recently on one of my online shopping sprees (my sprees have a budget ;) Seriously!) , I picked up this cute Hi-Lo Sheer Top from 99labels.com. While it covered 2 of the most sought after trends at the moment - Sheer + Hi- Lo :), it has also become one of my new favourites!

Mixing Neon and Bling

You guys must have noticed how much I am lusting over NEON yellow these days.. It's over all my social media pages especially the blog(last post with neon is here), facebook page and pinterest! Can't get enough of it *sigh* And now this sale season has added fuel to my lust resulting in a lot more Neon getting added to my closet.

Day before was my bestest and most gorgeous girlfriend's birthday.. Any guesses who? :) Well none other than my darling MOM! Girls can never have anyone more precious as their best friends than their moms! :)

I decided to dress in my finest for a casual dinner and so out came my ultra feminine and bling radiating Gold maxi tulle skirt, a white chiffon singlet and my latest Neon acquisition - a statement neck-piece from Blur Designs. (I can't get enough of their jewellery!) Mixing Neon and Gold with one basic colour piece in the outfit always works... Atleast for me ;)

Gold Maxi Tulle Skirt - MAX

Gold crystal flats - Queue up

Are you lusting over Neon too? Which shade? I won't be surprised if you say Yellow ;) cause that's my favourite :) But I'd love to know!
