Ethnic bags that are must haves in your wedding wear wardrobe!

The whole country was fixated on Sonam Kapoor's wedding and I was no different. From the painstakingly detailed ghagras to the natural makeup look to the spectacular jhumkas - everything that the stylish bride and her equally discerning bridal entourage and guests wore, was enthused about in the media. But there were two accessories in particular that caught my eye throughout the series of ceremonies and those were pretty potli bags and intricately ornate clutches!

Exciting Offer from My Gift Stop this Mother's Day - 25% Discount on Citizen Watches and a chance to win a $300 Gift Card!

I first came across the site My Gift Stop when I was looking for a last minute gift for someone, and let me tell you, it has now become my go to store for gifts in the USA. It is the place where one can find premium and luxury brands at amazing prices, and is the perfect place online for last minute gifts (happens so much to most of us these days right), branded sunglasses, designer handbags, luxury watches, and so much more. Other than this, one of the main reasons why I shop with them is that they are dedicated to giving back to society, which is something that matters to me a big deal these days. They donate 5% of every sale to the global medical relief nonprofit, Direct Relief. Knowing that I am contributing in this way also makes me feel so much better about my purchases.

3 Desi Twists To Your Western Wear!

The Indo Western fusion look has always been one of my favourites. Especially the combination of Indian accessories with Western wear. Making them work together is something that comes naturally to me, but I have always received queries from a lot of you on how it can be done. Most people haven't moved beyond the Kurti Jeans look, but trust me there is so much more that can be done. I am going to tell you 3 simple ways in which you can add the 'Desi' twist to your Western wear.

Future of Fashion in the Apps World

There is nothing like physically shopping for clothes or accessories where you can touch, feel and try so that you are exactly sure of what to buy  However, one thing about being a new mommy is that your child is your world and you are not really left with any time to head out and shop. Earlier, all the errands big or small along with shopping plans used to get easily integrated into a day or week, but now the hours just fly by with my little one and finding time for everything gets really difficult. Online shopping came to my rescue for 90% of my requirements right from my pregnancy, but lately I have made the transition to apps on my smartphone for a lot of things.

According to the report by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (Iamai) and IMRB International (a market research firm), by April 2015 India was going to have nearly 200 million mobile Internet users and it is expected to reach 213 million by June 2015. Now that is a huge number and the growth rate is astounding too. It's very clear if you look around that all around people are spending more time on the internet than any other media and the consumption of internet data is increasing on our mobile devices than our desktops or laptops especially for our personal work. Finally most of the time on our mobile devices is spent on apps thus making apps an indispensable part of our daily lives. I have noticed that every time I try to open a mobile site, in most cases it directs me to download the app which on downloading honestly is far more smooth to use than the mobile website. Where does that leave me? Well it leaves me totally in favour of just the app and the mobile website is soon forgotten.

Today if I want to shop or take a cab or book a ticket, I just log onto the app of the respective service provider and book the services. There is never the thought to wait to head home or to office to sit on a laptop or use the mobile website to do so. It just proves how mobile sites are soon going to have to phase out because I do not see them serving any purpose with apps doing a far better job.

Let me give you an example in terms of fashion of an experience of mine which proved to me that in the future this world is only going to be dominated by apps! :)

I usually like styling clothes that exist in my wardrobe or stuff similar to what is in my wardrobe through collages on a site called Polyvore. Recently I got a last minute invite for a party with the party being just 2 days away and like I told you with a baby time for yourself goes down like crazy. Also I was out for a family occasion and it was not going to be possible for me to head to the mall. But that didn't stress me out cause I had my favourite apps right there on my phone to help me through it all. In my head I zeroed down on an orange dress that I had and knew my Polyvore app would help me put the rest of my look together. I instantly went back to collages that I had created for an orange dress that would inspire my look and this look seemed just perfect!

Sparkling!

Now I had everything to put this look together but the gold gladiator heels and so I got looking on Pinterest to see what was available in the Indian market and bingo I found this perfect pair!

Well then all I had to do was click on the link and it too me to the Myntra app where I finally placed my order. I got this beauty for INR 1500 at a 50% discount and it reached me in 24 hours just in time for the party :-)

The experience was quick and seamless and I could finish the entire process in hardly any time right there on my phone. It makes me really happy to see that the future of fashion in the apps world is going in a direction which is making fashion more accessible and easy to understand and imbibe. Life I am sure is just going to get better and better for the Indian users with the way the penetration of apps is happening in our lives.

A penny saved is a penny earned!

The last few months have been crazy! Motherhood is a full time job by itself, but a job that I am loving to the core :-) Along with motherhood descending upon me, the other aspect of my life that has become important is the necessity to save more, as now its not just 2 people but 3 people that we are going to be spending on. Since I am an avid online shopper, mainly because of the convenience and also cause I am a Shopaholic, the showering of online sales and deal/coupon sites onto the Indian web world in the recent past has been a total blessing!

Zoutons is the latest deal/coupons site that I have stumbled upon and I'm loving it! The coupon categories range right from baby products(fresh category in my life), books, clothing & accessories. chocolates, cosmetics, electronics, food, footwear, home decor, personal care, movie tickets, travel to what not and much more. You name it and you will find a coupon. Zoutons motto is to form a symbiotic relation with shopaholics by providing them crucial information on discount coupons, closing sales, promo codes etc. from all the leading merchandisers of the Indian retail industry. They have coupons from most of the sites I shop from, be it Jabong, Myntra, Flipkart or Amazon. During the festive season, they bombard you with deals from all over the Indian world wide web, thus making gift shopping a stress free affair.

Just before Dusshera and Diwali, I decided shop on Jabong for some gifts for PS. UCB was having an awesome online sale on Jabong  and there was a further discount of 27% being offered on using a coupon available on the Jabong website. While that would have been a great deal in itself, it suddenly struck me to check out Zoutons because of the various reviews I had been hearing for a while and guess what, I found a coupon for 32% off for Jabong. You have to see this picture to believe the deal that I got!

I always get great deals on Jabong, but the coupon from Zoutons was the cherry on the cake! The price at which I got the entire order is less than what I usually pay for a shirt for PS when I pick it up in full price from the UCB store! So this purchase wasn't just a saving, but a mega saving and I kept patting myself on the back for days on how smart I always am in finding the best deals ;-)

This way I don't have to worry about more shopping or increasing expenses and I can save likewise and spend on other things! What more does one need in life? :-)

Have you guys ever tried Zoutons? If yes, then how was your experience and if not, then do try and share your experience with me! I love hearing deal/savings stories!!!

Whites: Staples for Summer!

Summer has been a killer in Mumbai this year! I don't remember this kind of heat for the longest time ever. Humid, sunny, hot winds and sometimes no winds, it's been crazy!

Whites and that too in light weight materials have been my saviour this season. I picked up a really nice white, light, comfy and airy split sleeves top from BaBassu with contrast detailing that you can see when you see the pics :) It comes in a variety of colours, so you have a palette to choose from if you also plan to pick one up! It's got this buttoned-up back too! Lots in one piece - must be something right ;)

White Chiffon Blouse - BaBassu
Jeans - Levis
Slingback heels - Charles & Keith
Gold Cuff - InPink

The detailing on the front and the buttoned-up back

The split sleeves which I loved, as it gives a nice and sexy vibe :)

This gold cuff from InPink has become a favourite of mine and I seem to be wearing it all the time!

I'm sure you like the top too ;) and so do check out the other pretty colours here!

OASAP - A blend of fashion and charity

Online shopping has taken over my life is such a big way I can't tell you! Gone are the days when I used to be vary of it and couldn't buy things until I tried them on or checked them out in person. Shopping online over the past few years has now made me soo open to it that I don't think twice buying something that I like off the internet. Since it allows me to be in tandem with the trends without having to take time out from my busy career and home to go to the stores, it's a must try recommendation to everyone who are suffering from the symptoms that I expressed above ;)

One of the online retailers that joined my list in the recent past is OASAP - a global online store dedicated to high-street fashion offering the latest designs in women’s apparel, bags, shoes, jewellery and accessories. They offer Free shipping with a 'No Minimum Buy' condition which pretty much is what makes me really happy when I order online.

I've ordered twice from them wherein the first time I ordered a necklace, and the second time I ordered a dress which is on its way :)

I also have a wish list lined up for my next few buys :) Can't wait to order those too!
The other thing that I loved about them was OASAP Donation - OASAP Ltd's charity project. Here funds are accumulated in two ways:
1. OASAP draws off 1% from each paid order into fund pool, while you need not execute any extra payment
2. You can pay extra 0.5(it may be $0.5,€0.5 or £0.5 according to the currency of your payment) when you checkout from OASAP order, this additional payment is also put into the fund pool.
The focus is on two aspects of public welfare assistance - refugees and children in difficult situations. It is mainly used to solve the difficult lives of the refugees and children facing problems of hunger and those that are out-of-school.

The quality of the necklace was nice and although delivery to India takes a while, its was worth the wait :) I will be putting up outfit posts with my buys soon! Hopefully the dress will reach me soon too!

So, the verdict is that OASAP.com is recommended by me for sure to all online shoppers! :)
