An evening of Prints, Tassles & Coloured Pants!

Weekends are always the best time of the week. You get ample time with all the people you want to spend time with without bothering too much about late nights or the next task to do. Family, friends and fun is mostly what my weekends are all about :) Catching up with friends is always nice and that's what PS and me make sure we do once a month with seven to eight other couples. Good food, drinks, a nice place, lotsa gossip and sometimes some music and dancing are all part of the evening. To top it of course is 'Dressing Up' ;)

Like I said 'Dressing Up' tops the list ;) and so there I was dressed up in my brand new Forever New printed pants anRomwe Arrow-shaped Curb Chain Tassel Necklace. Gorgeous is the word for both these pieces :) Since there was a chill in the air, I put on my sand coloured Zara cardigan. Don't miss the lovely platform stilettos with the beautiful cut out design that adorned my feet.

Singlet - Local market
Printed Pants - Forever New
Cardigan - ZARA

Arrow-shaped Curb Chain Tassel Necklace - Romwe.com
Cut-out Platform Stilettos - Giovana (Singapore)
Clutch - Esbeda (Gift)

PS has also started experimenting with his clothes lately and has finally stepped into the world of coloured pants. I loved what he wore that nite - Cobalt blue pants(his latest buy on our Turkey trip), a black shirt with fine checks detailing on the collar, buttons and sleeves and grey suede shoes.

Black Shirt with checks detailing - AND for Men
Cobalt Blue denims - Istanbul, Turkey
Grey Suede Shoes - Foot In
Watch - Swatch

We met up at Cafe Mangi (Powai) this month and I loved this location of theirs. Much better and bigger than the Bandra location. Not to forget, open air dinners are always good fun especially when you are with great company.

With the prints, statement accessories and coloured pants trends looking at becoming bigger in 2013, which ones are gonna make it your wardrobe? All 3 or are you going to pick and choose? Share with me and I'll tell you where to get the best deals from :)

Product Review: The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily moisturiser SPF 30

We all need sunscreens don't we? Those of you who say no or don't use any sunscreens, let me tell you that even if you are exposing yourself to the sun for 5 minutes in a day, you need one to protect yourselves from the UVA and UVB rays! And for those of you who agree with me or are starting to agree ;), today I'm reviewing The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturiser SPF 30, which I have been using for the last two years and provides both UVA and UVB protection.

I have dry skin which needs a lot of care. To top it the UV rays hinder the enzymes that produce the skin's natural moisturising factor of holding onto water. They also decrease levels of hyaluronic acid, which draws water into the skin and keeps it hydrated. Both these actions dry the skin out further which may result in sunburn. Hence as The Body Shop Vitamin C SPF 30 along with providing protection also ensures moisturising to do away with the dryness and dullness factor, it seemed perfect to me when I picked it up the first time. The citron smell also adds a certain fresh feeling on application.  The mosituriser contains sesame seed oil which softens skin and strengthens the skin’s natural defence system and the Amazonian camu camu berry, which is known to have one of the highest contents of vitamin C in nature that protects against damaging environmental aggressors. These factors along with the SPF made me pick it up even though I found the price slightly steep intially. However, within a week I noticed my skin looking more radiant and feeling more hydrated. There - I had finally found what I was looking for, without the greasiness that other sunscreens gave me :)

For it to have the best effects, use it twice daily after cleansing and toning your skin. Take just a pea sized amount. Let it take 5 minutes to absorb into your skin before you apply any make up.

This is priced at INR 1195 for 50 ml. I recommend to you the rest of the Vitamin C range as well from The Body Shop. As far as this sunscreen is concerned, I am definitely getting my hands on my 3rd tube soon :)

LAVIE's Autumn-Winter collection goes pop!

Bags in all sorts of pop colours in your wardrobe - sounds like a dream isn't it? :) Well no more, coz the Autumn-Winter collection launch of LAVIE made me realise that such dreams can come true and can be pocket friendly too-that's the better part of the realisation ;)! Keeping the winter blues away is definitely possible with LAVIE’s Autumn-Winter collection that has some of the hottest grabs this season with pop colours making a comeback. The trick is to add a little colour to your wardrobe without going over the top, so a bright coloured bag gives you the perfect dose to experiment. Perfect for a 'Woman on the Go' like me. Oranges, reds, neons, pinks, blues, greens, as well as the traditional muted shades, you name it and you will find it!

With Kareena Kappor as its brand ambassador you are sure you are laying your hands on something fabulous when you buy one of the chic pieces! A colourful evening along with an interaction with LAVIE's fashion consultant Pria Agni gave me quite some insights on the collection, the most important one being that they have leather bags too as a part of this range.

Let me take you through the collection that has everything to suit every need of a woman in today's world, be it clutches, totes, satchels, laptop bags or even the cute potlis for that ethnic touch. Colours, textures, embellishments, different materials, patterns, all kinds of sizes and shapes - you can find everything in this collection!

Pria's picks
Pria Agni shared her favourite picks with us while mentioning that 'We Indians love our colours bright and that is what this collection is predominantly about."

My favourites
I was like Kareena Kapoor in the store, wanting to pick up everything! Seeing the collection, I must say the commercial gives out absolutely the right message :)

Perfect for a day to work or an outing with the girls

The combination stole my heart especially the sporty straps

So what are you waiting, get moving girls! With a range that starts at 1,500 INR going upto 5000 INR, these pieces are a steal for the quality and variety being offered to you. In me they have found a new admirer :)

Head to Bagzone or Shopper's Stop to pick up these lovelies or log onto Yebhi, Flipkart or Jabong and order yourself a piece!

Awaiting to hear what to picked :)

Flirting with feathers :)

Towards the end of last year, I noticed that the whole fashion world had suddenly woken up to the use of feathers!  Feather hair extensions, feather corsages on dresses and feather earrings is what I spotted all over the place, but those never seemed to be my cup of tea. What I could identify with would probably be a statement feather necklace(since I love necklaces) but my bad luck - I wasn't able to find one anywhere as per my liking. And then Romwe answered my prayers last month with a whole new collection of feather necklaces and you guessed right, I landed up ordering a gorgeous yellow feather necklace :)

Heading out for a dinner date with PS, I paired the statement feather necklace with a shimmer top, basic denims, neutral heels and a matching yellow bag. Just the right mix! Not too over the top, not too simple.

Statement Yellow Feather Necklace - Romwe.com
Shimmer Top - Sarojini Nagar Market
Chiffon Singlet - BCBG, Singapore
Denims - ONLY
Bag - H&M, Singapore
Beige Peep Toes - Trendy

Looks fierce due to the feathers but it's actually very pretty with diamanté stones and kind of makes you feel a little tribal.

Coming to the tip - Most important and according to me the only tip while wearing feathers, in order not to go overboard is to keep just one feather item in your outfit - either a necklace or earrings or any other accessory. Nothing more than one feathered piece!

Are you guys liking the necklace? Would you also wear one if you could get your hands on something as lovely as this? I would love to know so keep the messages coming :)

Style Swap with Attic : Part 2 - The Attic Looks

I know some of you have been waiting for the 2nd part of the Style Swap with Attic series for a while, and my holiday to Turkey was the reason why it was on hold, but now no more delay. This post is going to be it! :D

Just to refresh - The Attic Style Swap is all about bringing you out of your comfort zone. Attic know's that you have style(that's a pre-requisite you see) but they lay emphasis on giving you an alternative one. They assist you to try something new, something out of the box, experimenting with your look.

The project was divided into 3 outfits -
My Look - 1 look that I was most comfortable in when I stepped out. This had to be a slightly formal look, which everyone around me identified me with - You saw this here in the 1st part
Their looks for me - 2 experimental looks which would be something different from my regular style

High waist being the key, this is what they did with me :)

Attic Look 1: Modern-Indian Runway fashionista

Brocade wide leg trousers by Sabbah Sharma - Rs. 5630.
Graphic kitsch jacket by Half Full - Rs. 10,500.
Gold Filigree bag (Rs. 4400 ), Bangles(Rs.1950), Leaf earrings (Rs.1450) by Ritika Sachdeva

Attic Look 2: Retro Pop, with a hint of drama!

Colour block high waist skirt by Him, Her & the Apple - Rs. 9265
Grey cape jacket by Gaga - Rs. 5550
Metal stone ring by Ritika Sachdeva - Rs. 1300
Gold & stone necklace by Neha Sahai - Rs.3200

I loved both the looks they tried on me and I'm definitely gonna be picking up a lot of high waist stuff for myself... Amrita and Rixi it was an eye opener on that front for me! Thanks Attic!

Thankxxxxx TesOura for the gorgeous curls and I will be trying them on myself more regularly as they really looked fabulous! :)

The Style Swap was super fun whether it was dressing up in the fabulous clothes, or getting my hair done, or getting shot in the various by lanes of Bandra - all in all we had a blast!

What do you guys think about the Style Swap? I would love to know your feedback!

Also, if any of you are interested in the Style Swap, get in touch with me and I will put it across to the Attic guys for you..

Hope you liked the experimentation :)
