My Wishlist this Week - August 3rd week

When the work is hectic and you still want to go shopping but cant because of the time factor or distance, what better way to do it than a 'Fantasy Shopping' jaunt! This is precisely what I did this week :-) I've chosen pieces that I personally favour and have put together 2 looks for each. What I liked are tops of 3 different styles which I would LOVE to add to my wardrobe. So check them out!

1. Elizabeth and James - Criss Cross Tank - $195
What I really liked about this Black jersey tank are the cross over straps at the back. A fitted piece which can be work either at work with pants and a jacket/knit or casually with a skirt or shorts. Match a smart bag and a pair of pumps or gladiators and your look is complete.

2. Maureen Plaid top - Forever 21 - $18

A pretty plaid weave effect and the ruffle trim gives this top a very feminine feel. A relaxed fit which can be worn with a fitting skirt or trousers for work or casually with jeans or shorts. Keep the footwear smart but simple and accessorize it with some nice earrings and a stylish watch and see the well turned-out look.

3. McQ Alexander McQueen- Navy double Layer tank - 132 GBP

I loved the navy colour of this sleeveless assymetrical jersey tank with a double layer which creates the draped effect. It has an easy fit and can be the ideal tummy disguiser alongwith making you look fab! Wear it with skinny jeans and killer heels in metallic shades for a night out clubbing or with a nice denim skirt with sneakers in contrasting bright colours for a casual day out and let me assure you that heads will surely turn.

Well I hope you enjoyed these looks as much as I enjoyed putting them together. You can try and work them out with similar stuff in your wardrobe or you can click on the sets and get guided to buying the items in the sets.

I'll look forward to your feedback and you can look forward to my next 'Fantasy Shopping' spree soon!

Romperiffic!!

A trend that I have been noticing for quite sometime now is that of the Rompers, Jumpers, Playsuits, Shortalls or Onesies, whatever you choose to call them though my personal favourite is "Rompers".. Makes it sound kinda wicked ;-)

I remember wearing it as a kid when the only size available used to be for kids but don't think that that's the case anymore... Women are wearing them in all sorts of styles and materials and you can achieve any desired look depending on how you work around it - from Casual Chic to Glam Doll! I find them cute, comfortable, fuss-free and fun. No wonder I couldn't do without them as a kid. But even then, I have seen reactions of both love and hate from others.

The trend has been seen on the international runways in a big way since 2008 and we saw designers come up with some really good styles. Check out my favourites.

Celebrities on countless occasions have been spotted wearing this look and we must keep in mind that they are the makers(and ruiners sometimes) of most trends. They've been seen everywhere from beaches to shopping to parties to red carpet events in rompers and seem to be sporting it right. See the ones that I loved.

Well with the one piece outfit saving us the hassle of coordinating tops and bottoms and making dressing up so much more easier, I decided to add more to my collection. Wear them with nice sandals and a bag during the day and killer heels and a clutch in the night and throw in some cute accessories anytime and you are set. So I looked up and I liked some(have put my personal favourites below and they are quite affordable) and plan to pick up them up sooner or later. And my suggestion would be that why don't you also have a look and think of doing the same? :-)

1. Ecote Floral Printed Halter Jumper - $40

I loved the bright floral print and the smocked waist finished with a halter top. Nice for casual wear. Pair them with embellished sandals and you are good to go.
What I liked about this romper was the colour and the sheen of the material. Its got a semi-casual look and will look great with strappy tops and kitten heels. Can be worn simple during the day or accessorize it for a fun clubbing night.

The reason I was attracted to this denim romper was the true to size fit. The shirred bust, embellished rear pockets and the stacked ring hardware on the belt loops and the halter straps give it a very trendy look. I would wear it with gold heels and a matching clutch for a night out and I'm sure to see an impact. :-)

4. Victoria's Secret Strapless Romper - $24

Wear this strapless romper for a trip to the beach and show off your great shoulders. You can also use it as a cover up. Team it with flat sandals and a nice hobo bag and win cool points.

5. Fetish Jenna Romper - $47

Simple and sweet! The front zip detailing and side pockets look stylish. Belt it up with a nice braided belt. Neutral or nude colour peep toe pumps would be the ideal shoe selection to create the perfect look.
So now that that we've dealt with brands, if you want even cheaper ones, you should try the surplus/discount stores in your respective countries. In India and Sri Lanka, you can get good bargains on big brand names at the export surplus stores as a lot of these brands are manufactured in these countries. Street shopping at Colaba Causeway and Fashion Street in Mumbai and Janpath in Delhi in India, Chatuchak weekend market in Bangkok in Thailand, and Bugis Street in Singapore will fetch you some good bargains.

Well well well... My fashion prediction is that I am going to see a lot of ladies "Romping" around, but what do you think??
