Ri(t)ch Styles 4th Blogversary Spa Party

Ri(t)ch Styles celebrated their 4th Blogversary at the newly launched Jean Claude Biguine Salon and Spa at Khar this weekend! How time flies! I still remember just starting my blog and here we stand today, 4 years from then, and way ahead :) So obviously the party had to be special, and that made us decide to keep a SPA PARTY. A morning of pampering along with some cake, champagne and tasty eats, marked the celebrations. The guests were well taken care of, while they got themselves pampered with a manicure, pedicure, hair wash & blow dry and scalp & shoulder massages. PS and me had loads of fun hosting it and a fabulous time with the lovely people who came to celebrate with us.

The pictures are going to take you through the super morning spent relaxing and enjoying! Don't envy us ;)

All set for the party to start :)

With the lovelies Anusree and Natasha

The start of Ri(t)ch Styles and how it spread its roots :)

I am in a nostalgic mood today. As the Blogversary date is drawing closer, I can't help but reminicse the wonderful moments that the blog has given me from when it started in 2009. It's been a great journey and I have grown in various and positive ways :)

2009 to 2013 - Cheers!

For those of you who don't know much about me other than what you see on the blog, here is a backgrounder on me in simple words:
I’m a media professional by profession and a personal style & fashion blogger and stylist by passion :) I toggle between the two between day and night.

How did Ri(t)ch Styles start?
Way before I started the blog, I used to do makeovers in my free time and personally shop for people because most of the stuff I wore or bought was appreciated and people wanted to know how they could get their hands on similar stuff and good deals and how to put together combinations and tips and all. Reading has also been a passion and so while reading all the lovely fashion blogs a few years ago, I decided that one of the best ways for me to express myself would be through my own personal blog where I could share my ideas and that’s how Ri(t)ch Styles came into being. Ri(t)ch Styles was originally known as 'Fashion from around the World' as I used to travel a lot and pick up a lot of stuff while travelling, but after marriage, a tip from PS gave me the brilliant idea to change the name to Ri(t)ch Styles :) Apt as it relates to my name RITCHA and to my personal style.

Why I chose fashion as a topic?
Fashion is what keeps me going. It is a daily part of me and it is what I express myself through and involves my entire look. At the end of the day, my happiness is majorly dependent on what I am wearing :)

So with the support of family and best friends, I started my blog and that is how it has reached today to where it stands spreading it roots further!

The L'Oreal Paris's Stay Rooted Jad Se Judein video has moments just like I have had through my life and reminds me that we all start small. You can check out the video here - http://bit.ly/JadSeJudein

And since it reminds me of moments, I'm keeping a L'Oreal #StayRooted Giveaway Contest

Would love to know who keeps you rooted :)

The Bombay Store - Launching new endeavours since 1906

As you enter The Bombay Store's flagship store at Mumbai, the nearly 107 year old iconic history catapults you back into time which would be the early 1900s. While India was still under the British rule, one of the strongest manifestations of mass awakening was, the desire to patronize all that was 'Swadeshi' (Made in India). Great Indian patriots and businessmen like Lokmanya Tilak, Sir Ratanji Jamshedji Tata amongst others conceived Bombay Swadeshi Co-Op Stores Co. Ltd, which came into existence on 17th December 1906. It was the first retail organization in India to be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The success of the endeavour which the existence of the chain of stores affirms, fills you with a feeling of pride and faith that Swadeshi will always be way above everything else. However, with globalisation, as the store now caters to an audience with a contemporary mindset, the brand was rechristened in December 1995 to The Bombay Store.

The Bombay Store's look from the 1930s
Don't you love vintage snaps like I do? :)

What I had gone to check out was their new initiative called 'Launchpad' which was started by them in April where they help young brands and designers who have potential to grow, by showcasing their collection at their Fort, Mumbai store for a span of 10-15 days each. This is the first ever initiative done by a retail chain to support upcoming brands.

The 2 brands that I checked out were 'All Things Sofeez'  which had a lovely range of fashion acessories and 'Inspirasia' which comprised of fashion accessories and quirky home decor.

Other than Launchpad, I also checked out the collection in the rest of the store and was pleasantly surprised with the new arrivals. I'm crushing on the quirky and colourful cutting chai glasses and teapots which were hand painted, the community chai glasses, the earthenware mugs, the quirky laptop bags, the Bombay influenced umbrellas, the cute animal print ties and the vintage style furniture.

The organisation's focus on the theme of “DISCOVER A NEW INDIA” through their innovative  range of  products reflective of a blend of contemporary and traditional Indian culture, is working very well. All the best to them!

I totally loved what The Bombay Store had to offer and when I do up a new house, I know exactly where I need to head to right away.

Is that a dress or a shirt-dress?!

Well actually both :) A bodycon singlet tunic that I have used as a dress layered with a shirt-dress for that casual yet flowy feel. It made me feel sexy and yet I was covered, apt for the beach. A metal bead and tassel neck-piece sealed the look for me! :)

Shirt-Dress - Kazo (2009)
Metal beads and tassel necklace - Ri(t)ch Styles

I had awesome pancakes for breakfast at the hotel shack before hitting the beach and that marked the start of the 4th year of our marriage that morning :) Wow! Time flies!
