Make-up games at the Shoppers Stop Makeover Fest

The weekend was a weekend well spent. Those of you who follow me on twitter, instagram and facebook got a glimpse into what I was upto, but those of you who don't, here is all of it spelt out right for you.

As a child, make-up fascinated me. Whenever my mom used to buy make-up, she used to take me along knowing how much I used to wait to go along with her and see her try products. Sometimes the counter ladies would be nice enough to try some on me too. But I would always wish I was older so that I could get a whole new look every time like my gorgeous mom, as she would try different products from different brands and finally have a pouch full of products for a while. Brands then were few and so were the variety of products and sadly the store she used to go to also shut down a few years later. After that started the habit of calling for products from abroad when my cousins would come over but I missed the whole feeling of trying and buying. My first makeover experience happened in the US and I never experienced anything like that in India till Shoppers Stop started placing the best brands under its roof. That's even more so the reason as to why I was so glad to be a part of the Shoppers Stop Makeover Fest at the Malad store the last weekend. The fest was from the 24th to 26th May and I attended it on the 25th. They had the best of brands to give people the best experience possible - Lancome, Guerlain, Shiseido, Dior, Elizabeth Arden and Givenchy. No wonder it was called 'The Ultimate Makeover'!

I have been wanting to try out quite a few products from Dior for a really long time but mommyhood kept pushing my plans further and further away, so this was my perfect chance to fulfill that wish of mine. It was time for some Dior loving that day and they had the cutest booth that made me feel like a total star!

Set to begin sans Make-up!

Ta-Da - Makeover Complete!

The experts at Dior created a winged liner but no kajal with glossy lips, rosy cheeks and loads of mascara day look on me which had a very fresh appeal to it. What I loved about my makeover was that I didn't miss not wearing Kajal which is one thing I always thought I can't live without. I finally also got to experience the Dior Airflash foundation which makes you photo perfect and you can give the concealer a skip depending on the amount of coverage that you go for. It has a spray pump mechanism which gives the foundation a mousse like feel on spraying and also helps avoid wastage.

Neon Top - Cotton On, Singapore
Distressed Denims - Only
Gold Loafers - Pavers England
Gold Bag - Michael Kors

If you guys got a chance to head to the #SSMakeoverFest, do share your experience with me. If not, then no worries because you can still head to the Shoppers Stop outlets across the country to check out the awesome brands they offer to you under a single roof. Their amazing experts will help you look your best!

Camouflaged Nerd!

Camouflage Shirt - Romwe
Oxblood Pants - IJeans, Shoppers Stop
Studded Tan Belt - Bangkok (A buy from 2003 that's still a part of my everyday use)
Slingback shoes - Charles & Keith (last seen here, herehere and here)
Bag - Lavie

The wind in my hair and my hair on my face! Just couldn't control it!

My glasses finally make a debut on the blog! Lol! No, they aren't new and no, I haven't just gotten a number :) I've been wearing them for nearly 17 years now, 15 years out of which I have worn more of my lenses and so you never came to know ;) :P In school most people called me a nerd and 90% of the time when I wear my glasses, people still do that. But trust me on this, I'm so not a nerd :)

Camouflage, Oxblood and Studs are 3 trends I am coveting at the moment and this studded camouflage shirt from Romwe inspired me to put all 3 together to create a slightly offbeat look. I threw in the camouflage shirt, a pair of oxblood pants and a studded tan belt with it and added tan accessories to complete the look. And not to forget my glasses :)

Rock Chic on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is here but somehow I just couldn't get myself to wear an absolute feminine look for the day.. I was in the grunge mode and so a rocker look was what made its way on me for the day! Something way different than my usual affinity for dresses and jackets :) However Oxblood is my new favourite colour and my Oxblood pants are my most favourite piece of clothing at the moment. So as Valentine's is a day for favourites, I decided to pair these with a white vest, black waistcoat, and my other 2 new loves - buckle low heel black boots from Ahaishopping and black fringe bag from Chicnova that came just in time for Valentine's!

Well there isn't much more to say other than "Happy Valentine's Day" and on my look, comment you may ;) Ha ha ha! Atleast I am being poetic on Valentine's ;)

Printed Top - Thailand
Black Waistcoat - Bugis (Singapore)
Oxblood pants - Ijeans from Shoppers Stop
Buckle Low Heel Boots - Ahaishopping
Black Fringe Bag - Chicnova

Am now planning a feminine flowy look for the night! :) Another style that I haven't worn before.. So keep watching this space to check that out soon!

What are you guys wearing this Valentine's? Looking forward to hearing some stylish stories :)

Date Nite!

The sweetest thing ever - A surprise by the husband(PS) to take me out on a date on a friday nite! So out came a bright new top with a sexy back and my brand new necklace by designer Jesal Vora. There I was all set to be whisked off for an awesome nite by my Prince Charming!

My first try at a Gin concoction - Pretty neat!

Yellow Top - Bugis (Singapore)
Blue Corduroy Pants - Ijeans by Shoppers Stop
Necklace - Jesal Vora
Gold Cuff Bracelet - InPink
Clutch - Accessorize (last seen here)
Gold Ballerinas - Linking Road

On my eyes - A blend of 3 shades from MAC and Clinique
On my cheeks - Mocha Pink Powder Blush from Clinique
On my lips - Vegas Volt from MAC

PS knows I love surprises but his work schedule hinders a lot of plans. More than me I think he was delighted that it worked out! ;)

The necklace is a gorgeous piece with a coral rose, pearls and blue glass beads. I knew I was picking it up the moment I looked at it. I also loved a lot of other Jesal Vora creations when I visited her store which I will be sharing with you guys in a post soon. Other than that, the gold ballerinas were a steal at just INR 150($3) from Linking Road. The yellow top has a sexy back with straps starting from the shoulders which you can see. Sorry but my camera that nite was acting funny so couldn't get too many good shots. Next time for sure :)
