The Little Pink Dress!

We all have our favourite 'Little Black Dress' and I have a couple, but lately I have a favourite 'Little Pink Dress'. I bought it during my birthday shopping last year, but it has been the perfect dress for the Indian Summer that we are facing, and so most of you have seen me on Instagram wearing it quite regularly during the lockdown. I think the term 'LPD' would be just apt for it!

Andaman Style Diaries: Jumpsuit Loving!

I find jumpsuits really versatile and chic. Wear them anywhere from the beach, to a casual day out, to a night on the town, and they perfectly fit in anywhere! I like the cropped wide leg ones for the beach especially in synthetic fabrics as you can walk in the shallow water in them, they don't let the sand stick and dry up pretty quick too. Thanks to that you too can take off right from the beach to your next pit stop. For my trip to the Andamans I picked up this black one with metal chains for straps and I loved the way it fit me like a dream. Super comfy and flattering, I was so glad I wore this for my day that started with checkout, to spending some time at Vijaynagar Beach i.e. Beach No. 5 at Havelock Island, and then heading to Neil Island.

The Golden Years!

Aryaa turned 2 last month (yes that post is coming up soon too!) and time seems to be just flying. Every moment since her birth has been full of love, warmth and joy and these definitely are the golden years of her and my life as once the every day routine of life starts for her, it will never be the same. The unending hours of togetherness, the long tucked into bed hours, the uninhibited dancing to Bollywood songs together, and the innocent cute face making me give into every demand not knowing what is right and wrong, will all be replaced by school, a kid who has more understanding of the world around her, and years and maturity adding to the age. I am sure that will be fun too but somehow my heart refuses to let her grow up so fast! For now I am going to enjoy these 'Golden Years'!

Just Be Yourself

My pregnancy was filled with futile shopping visits most of the times that I wanted to buy clothes. Having not put on too much weight other than a little bit on the tummy and on the curvy areas, maternity clothing didn't fit me well and regular clothing my size would be super tight on the tummy. What I needed was good plus size clothing which most brands in this country don't really believe in despite most Indian women actually being endowed with curves in the right places. I mean being curvy is good - Ask the ones who have the curves! Since I am extra choosy and picky and can't make do with just something not up to the mark, I managed with existing clothes in my wardrobe that were either flary or were picked up abroad(they actually have great clothes catering to plus size and curvy women). Even when I wasn't pregnant, because of being heavier on my lower body, I always craved for well fitting pants that I didn't have to alter to fit my waist, because I always had to buy larger sizes as per my butt size! I constantly wondered why hardly any brands ever bothered about it, and if they did then why did they not care to make stylish clothes instead of drab and boring ones.

My recent visit to Westside seemed like an answer to all my prayers. Sassy Soda, its latest trendy collection designed for women who love their curves and believe in 'Have it, Flaunt it' definitely displays a unique understanding of the fashion needs of the curvier youth of today.

I had a great time exploring the collection cause it was too good to be true, and put together a few outfits too to show you how awesome this collection is!

I love how they have taken care to incorporate all the latest trends, be it fun prints and silhouettes and colours that pop to add oomph to your wardrobe. Finally curvy girls are going to dress up without any compromises.

Plus size fashion in India is not going to be the same anymore. Westside has definitely added SASS to this segment! :-)

By the way, it's not just Sassy Soda that they launched recently. They have also introduced their first in-house stylish and affordable lingerie brand called Wunderlove. They have 3 different collections to suit different moods - Daily Essentials that are your everyday must-haves. Everyday Pretty that lets you explore your fun, playful side and Fancy Pants of alluring and elegant separates. Something to suit everyone's taste. I am a crazy hoarder of lingerie and I know for a fact that I am going to go back to pick up not one but loads of their gorgeous pieces. Lovestruck is the apt word for what I feel about Wunderlove!

These launches scream out to me "Just Be Yourself"!

I'm sure you guys want to know what all I picked up but what's the hurry? :-) Soon Soon.. Very soon... Till then do go and check out these new launches at Westside!

Trends 2013: Emerald Green and Metallic Statement Necklaces

Last year, Emerald Green was declared as the colour of 2013 by colour corporation Pantone. Who knew that it would turn out to be so well accepted and become such a craze. For me, it's been one of my favourite colours and so I got one more reason to hoard on this colour this year ;) Who doesn't wanna be dressed in the colour of the year?

White Jeans - Westside (last worn here and here)
Brown Heels - Giovanna
Metallic Golden Bag - Sisley (last seen here, here, here and here)

While Statement necklaces have been around for a while, I'm liking the transition from wood and plastic to more chunkier metallic pieces. The thick gold chain with a tribal influenced pendant, diamanté stones and metallic studs all added to the chunky appeal of the necklace that I wore with the lovely emerald green top, both from Romwe for my sister-in-law's house-warming karaoke party.

How to wear Purple pants!

The coloured pants mania has taken over my shopping escapades in such a biggg way that in the last few months I haven't bought any basic shades. It's just been brighttttt colours filling up my racks. While the Pink Promod pants are my favourite, the Purple ones are next on the list!

These pants I wear to work too :) Thanks to working in the media, there are days when I can afford to wear my coloured pants to work, but it seriously gets difficult to control the urges on the days when I can't! *Sigh*

The first time I decided to wear them to work was the day of my team meeting and so I couldn't look too casual. Pairing a black blazer with it wherein I rolled up the sleeves, created an easy yet perfect look for work and for fun! :)

Purple Pants - Spring Break
Grey T-shirt - Giordano
Black Blazer - NEXT
Bag - Aldo
Shoes - Singapore
Neck-piece - Westside

I love these shoes of mine, especially the grey cloth and black trimming look. They convert any outfit from casual to semi-casual in an instant! The neck-piece with its hint of blue just added some more colour to the outfit. These pants always get me loads of compliments.. That's one thing that never changes with it! :)

Nau(gh)tical Trend ;)

The classic nautical striped look is a never-going-to-die trend. Year on year it emerges on the runways across the globe in every Spring/Summer fashion week and especially in summer you see it flattering every body type all over the world. Navy blue and white stripes is the evergreen form.

After a long search for the perfect nautical top to suit my taste, I finally found one right in time for summer. Pairing it with white jeans(last worn here), my new blue rimmed Ray Ban's, silver ballerinas and also a new haircut I was set for May Day! It also put me into a naughty and playful mood :) Being a holiday, I spent the whole day with PS bugging him endlessly ;) and finally got some shots in daylight!

The killing heat in Mumbai makes spending time next to a lake seem like bliss and the setting just right for some lovely clicks.

Sunglasses - Ray Ban's
Blue Clutch - Gift from another fashionista
Silver Ballerinas - Linking Road, Bandra

How are you playing the nau(gh)tical trend? ;) What colour stripes do you like?

Spring is here!!

Pink is nearly every girl's favourite colour and white jeans are a must for every girl's wardrobe.. Combine these together and you have a spring outfit effortlessly ready :)

Last saturday me and my newest photographer(also one of my closest girlies) went out for a movie and then we set out to check out new locations for pictures, finally settling on a lovely waterfront.. Since it was dark, the water body can't be seen in the pics but the background lights in the darkness looked lovely..

Tunic worn as top - Zara, White Jeans - Westside

Bag - Zara

Bangles - Colaba Causeway

Neck piece - Chemistry ( gift from sis-in-law)

Snakeskin textured shoes - Portia (ordered through Brandmile)

This water body has been very close to my heart. Whenever I have been low, upset or disturbed, I have always come here and sat in my car for ages just soaking in my surroundings to calm me down and it does soothe me to a great extent. I have a very old relationship with this place............
