Fire up with the Asus Zenfone Max! #LiveUnplugged

When Asus sent me their new Zenfone Max to review, little did I expect that my patience too would be tested to the MAX in return ;-) It came to me on 19th May in this box with a numerical lock, whose code would be revealed to us only on the 23rd of May and so I had to keep waitingggggg! But finally on the 23rd when I unboxed it, it definitely was a product worth the wait. :-)

The key feature of the Zenfone Max has been it's 5000 mAh battery which makes it run without repeated charging for days. The new version provides a superior performance as it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor and provides the users an option to opt for a 2GB or 3GB RAM. The internal memory of the phone too has been increased to 32GB, in addition to an expandable memory of up to 64GB. The Zenfone Max with 2GB RAM which I have is available for Rs. 9,999 and the one with 3GB RAM is available for Rs. 12,999. All this for a prices mentioned sounds amazing right away but there is so much more to the product that I loved which is what this post is all about!

Sleek Look and Feel

I love the black embossed faux leather back of the phone that I have received. While the phone is slightly heavier than the other variants because of the 5000 mAh battery which is understandable, the metal-edged body is really sleek and stylish to look at while making it durable. The back button has been done away on this phone which used to be a of a great advantage, but moving all buttons to the side has made the phone look sleeker. It overall has a really luxurious appeal. For those of you who want brighter colours, it is also available in orange and blue.

A Long Lasting Battery that also fires up other devices

What you see above is what was left after 3 days of unlimited browsing, video watching and calling and music playback. Then also at 5% if you leave the device idle, it will still run for 1 day and 7 hours which by itself was unbelievable for me, let alone 12 hrs on Super Saving mode. I had to charge my phone only on the 4th day which is something I have never done with a phone before. I literally charge my phones minimum once a day. Also I use 2 phones already and when I am getting out of the house I always have to carry an additional power bank for my phones. So that makes it 3 devices every time I step out. By replacing one of my phones with the Max, I now have to carry only 2 devices, because the below OTG cable turns the phone into a charger to fire up my other phone.

So it isn't just the 5000 mAh battery, but also this magic cable that has made life simpler and my bags lighter on stepping out of the house.

Superior Performance

I have seen a huge change in the new Zenfone Max which is a lag-free experience thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor with a 2GB RAM. In the earlier variants, there used to be a lag sometimes expecially when multi-tasking like browsing and calling simultaneously which I did not notice at all on this phone. For someone like me who is calling, blogging, vlogging and working on my social media simultaneously. this is a huge relief.

These are the features which I have loved about the Asus Zenfone Max in specific. Prior to receiving the Zenfone Max, I had been using the Zenfone Laser for 6 months and most of the features that I loved in that phone are in this phone as well, be it the camera, the photo modes, the kids mode, the soothing bluelight filter and the dual sim. Those features are common is most of the recent Asus Zenfones and you can read more about those features here - http://www.ritchstyles.com/2016/02/10-reasons-to-love-asus-zenfone-laser-2.html

I think this phone is complete value for money for its features and most of all look and feel. When you hold this phone in your hand, people think you are holding a really expensive phone which is not the case at all :) This phone definitely makes it to my list of recommended phones under the INR 10,000 budget.

The Zenfone Max with 2GB RAM can be pre-ordered on Flipkart while Zenfone Max with 3GB RAM can be purchased from Amazon, Snapdeal and Flipkart. The 3GB RAM variant will also be available at ASUS Exclusive stores and all other retail stores across India, at a later date.

Also for all you Sonakshi Sinha lovers, there is some good news! Asus has appointed technology inclined Sonakshi Sinha as its first-ever brand ambassador in the country and you can see her actively documenting her experience on her social media accounts.
