L'Oréal Paris Cannes Conference unveiling L'Or Collection by Sonam Kapoor And Namrata Soni

When I think of the Cannes Film Festival, I think of L'Oréal Paris and the fashion fiesta that it is known for being. This year L'Oréal Paris celebrates 16 years of being the official make-up partner and 10 years of partnering with the festival, a partnership that was born from a true passion for cinema and out of respect for the creativity true to L'Oréal s values. What's even better is that the festival is celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema this year and so Bollywood will take centre stage at the red carpet! For an Indian, all eyes should be on Cannes this year :)

Last week, L'Oréal Paris invited me for their Cannes Press Conference to meet Sonam Kapoor as she unveiled L'OR SUNSET - their collection for the Cannes Film Festival paying tribute to Bollywood and homage to the beauty of cinema. Manashi Guha, Marketing Manager, L'Oréal Paris announced Namrata Soni as their new Beauty Expert who has created 6 Bollywood inspired make-up looks keeping in mind the 100 years of Indian Cinema, out of which Sonam will be wearing 2 at the Cannes this year. These looks are inspired by the various eras of Bollywood.

The L’Or Sunset collection features a palette of colours that celebrates the shadows and lights of the most glamorous sunsets. The collection is versatile and I personally got a chance to check out the entire collection at the conference while Namrata showed us two simple looks and gave us tips.

The new L'Or Sunset Collection takes drama to the next level as it filled with colours that satisfy ever person's wants. They have bright pop colours, subtle colours and dark colours thus allowing one to create en-number of looks with one collection. For summer this is going to be my go-to collection. Their range of products is vast and the sparkle nail paints add the Oomph to the collection!

Sonam Kapoor is a fashion icon in our country. I love her eclectic sense of style and the confidence with which she carries herself. The conference proved that in person to me too! She wore a gorgeous Armani Privé dress with to-die-for Sunita Kapoor earrings.

What made her stand out were her straight forward answers, the way she commanded respect for the rest of the people on stage with her and how sweetly she interacted with me and also asked me if I liked the collection - Manners well taught I must say! :)

Namrata Soni, I would say is like a magician who uses her magic wand which are her swift fingers and transforms women into gorgeous beauties in no time. She is one lady to watch out for on the Indian make-up scene.

Blackberrys Sharp Nights Jam Up

Blackberrys, one of India’s most sought after menswear brand, recently brought together fashion and music, on a single night, on a single stage. It launched the Spring Summer’ 2013 collection at the Blackberrys Sharp Nights Jam Up, at an exclusive, closed door fashion extravaganza where moi was invited :) and where Arjun Rampal, Ayuhsmann Khurrana, Anushka Manchanda and Karsh Kale walked the ramp to showcase Blackberrys Summer 13 collection as the official show stoppers and then jammed up to create some really edgy music.

The night opened with the fashion show for the launch of the Spring Summer' 2013 collection. I would describe the collection as a blend of the old and the new - some looks that reminded you of the 60's with bow ties and slim suits, some classic fit suits and some very trendy pieces keeping in mind the young, worked out, chiselled bodies in today's time.

What followed the fashion dose was the Jam up night and what a night it was! The Jam up concept was to combine some of the finest and most versatile talents in music and Bollywood, who have challenged existing norms and redefined conventional roles, and so we saw 4 new-age artists: Arjun Rampal(yes he spun some awesome EDM), Ayushmann Khurrana, Anushka Manchanda and Karsh Kale enthrall the crowd with their performances. Blackberrys has been known for the ‘twist’, ‘for challenging norms’ and 'walking the unbeaten path'. With the brand’s mantra of ‘Go Sharp’, this concept was another novelty from the brand.

Mid-Day in Paris with ELLE Fashionwear And Jean-Claude Biguine

ELLE Fashionwear held their first ever blogger meet in Mumbai recently at their Linking road store to preview their Spring Summer '13 collection. Themed as 'Mid-Day in Paris', the agenda also included discussing the nuances of French fashion with the ELLE design team as well as get styling tips from the professionals of Jean-Claude Biguine. While botanical prints dominated the collection, we got a preview to the neons that will make an entry into their collection in the coming weeks. Shorts, floral prints, asymmetrical dresses and flirty tops, all that a girl needs to look and feel cool in the hot summer that has hit us already!

This botanical print dress caught my eye and this is what I chose to style my look around. I loved what JCB did to my hair and how the over all look turned out. An evening of Fashion, Champagne and Hors d'oeuvres along with a chance to catch up with my fellow bloggers - fun as always! :)

Favourite Trends: Floral Shoes

Flowers make a patient feel better right? That's exactly what floral shoes do to me ;) They bring a spring to my step and make me feel much better especially with the current changing weather playing with my health! And any ways since we are embracing Spring, what better than pretty floral shoes to step into this new phase of the year!

The best part about this trend is that you can find it in every style, whether wedges, stilettos, sneakers, pumps, peep toes, strappy sandals, ballerinas, platforms. You can pair them up with all sorts of outfits and wear them to work too to add a spunk to your clean cuts. Colours best worn with are solid colours or the basic neutrals as then the attention is on the shoes making it the highlight of your look. This trend is for everyone - all sizes and colours :)

We are going to see a lot of this trend and I have picked up some of my favourites for you guys to drool over ;)
