Travel Tales : IKEA + Outlet and Street Shopping in Singapore

Singapore is a shopper's paradise and shopping is an absolute must do when you visit Singapore! While most of the stores are located in the numerous shopping malls across the city, Singapore also offers you other experiences through factory outlets, street shopping, exclusive boutiques, concept stores and of course the IKEA flagship store.

While shopping the outfit that you wear should be non-fussy is the rule that I apply. Keeping that in mind this is what I wore for my day of IKEA, outlet shopping and street shopping (elaborated in detail after the pics).

Dress - Says M&S though bought from Goa
Orange Belt - Blur Designs
Neck piece - Gift from sis ( earlier seen here)
Flats - Queue-up ( earlier seen here)
Bag - Mango (earlier seen here, here and here)
Bangles - Colaba Causeway & Bandra

That was my shoe shopping for the day :)

Our second day started with Anchorpoint, the first mall to introduce the concept of outlet stores in Singapore. My major haul was at Charles & Keith since I love the comfort of their footwear especially their heels and Cotton On where I majorly shopped for neons and shiny shirts. Cotton On shocked me with its outlet prices. You can actually find stuff starting at SGD 5 (INR 225 = USD 4) and more over further offers on that too. This mall is located at Alexandra Road and has a food court which overs a great variety of  food including Thai, Malay and Japanese.

Our next stop was IKEA which is a heaven for people looking for affordable furniture and home decor items.  Located opposite Anchorpoint, this was our next stop for the day. Since India has no Ikea stores, I make it a point to visit this place on my trips to Singapore. While I love most of what I see, its not possible for me to take back any of the furniture, but I do take back knick knacks, ideas and inspiration from here. I believe my homes in the future are gonna be as stylish and contemporary as my ideas :)

Next on the agenda was the area Bugis where my haunts usually are Bugis Junction, Bugis Village and Bugis Street - Singapore's largest street shopping area with 800 shops. You get the latest fashion here be it clothes, shoes and bags at throw away prices and so makes it Singapore's teenage haven. BHG at Bugis Junction gets you some really awesome deals while the street shopping area across the road has fashion and knick knacks at the lowest prices in Singapore from all over the South East Asia. The shoe shop Giovanna at Bugis Village is one store I never miss. For cheap shopping thrills, I recommend Bugis as a must not miss!
