I expect nothing but the best from Manish Malhotra and trust me he never ever disappoints! He only raises the bar further for himself with every collection of his and as usual he nothing short of dazzled everyone as he opened Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 with ‘ELEMENTS’ – his Spring/Summer 2016 Haute Couture collection. The show was presented in association with LYF Smartphones, whose range is also based on the elements of nature thus making them perfect partners as the association is an ideal blend of fashion with technology.
The first look of the stunning runaway created like the 'Tree of Life' with bird installations from the roof, and sound of birds chirping in the background was in perfect alignment with the theme of the collection and set the pace for the show. The collection was an absolutely mind blowing yet unexpected one with an uber glamorous appeal and the 70 ensembles created by Manish for a beautiful summer wedding had variations to traditional yet modern Indian couture. ‘ELEMENTS’ was the apt title given to the collection as it was inspired by Nature’s four elements – Earth, Water, Wind and Flame.
Flowy capes, tailored ponchos, overlapped trousers, cocktail dresses with graceful sari drapes, off-shoulder jumpsuits with Victorian trails in organza, tussar and crepe in hues of baby pink, powder blue, mint green and sunset orange - all gorgeous additions to a brides wardrobe. On the other hand, sharp jackets and kurtas, tailored pants and churidars in shades of blue, ivory, mint and rust all make a grooms wardrobe complete. Manish completed the ensembles with handpicked uncuts, rubies, emerald and diamond accessories from Anmol Jewellers.

My favourites from the collection would be these beautiful pieces!
The showstoppers were the stunning Jacqueline Fernandez who lit up the room in a pastel pink gown and sheer cape and the dapper Arjun Kapoor in a metallic jacket with black kurta and pants.
Manish's aim was to create outfits that the bride and groom can have fun in at their wedding as well as look out of the world and I must say he perfectly achieved that. I love the new direction that the label ‘MANISH MALHOTRA' has taken, and I eagerly am already awaiting for what he will unveil the next season. There is a reason he is known as 'Couturier to the stars'! :)
