If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail! #KhudKoKarBuland

If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail! There cannot be a saying more true!

The most unexpected things, good or bad, happen when you least expect them to happen. The only way to deal with adverse situations is to be prepared for them. Like my father always tell me you should always drive carefully not because you are a bad driver, on the contrary you are a good driver, but because there are many idiots driving on the road, you need to protect your car from them :) So, the ideal way to prepare for facing tough situations is to plan in advance and be prepared.
Take my case. I was working as a successful Corporate Communications manager in a well known company but still used to blog as a hobby to express my sense of style because fashion always was my real love. The hobby turned into a passion and I soon reached a point where I decided to turn my passion into my profession. Knowing that the early days as a professional blogger are not going to be easy, I decided to save and keep some money aside to take care of my monthly expenses and commitments. Till date I have never borrowed any money from family or friends to pay any of my EMI's or even for taking care of the simplest of expenses. The savings were well and intelligently planned and eventually blogging has become monetarily rewarding too, and I am really happy that the decision to quit my job and pursue my passion has really paid off without having to depend on anyone.

My parents have always planned their lives so brilliantly that I am always in complete awe. Whether it was buying a Sumit Mixer Grinder(a huge thing 35 years back) when they were younger, or my marriage, or their real estate properties, it was always a well thought of and well rounded decision, which never affected other aspects, or mine and my brothers upbringing in any way. In fact we were sent to the best of schools, travelled to the best of places for our holidays and lived a life of real comfort. Even after my father has retired, he has planned everything in advance in such a way that my parents lifestyle has not changed one bit. Sending my brother to study at one of the best universities in the USA also wasn't a tough decision at all, because he had planned that this could happen in the future and had made all arrangements to fund it all without the batting of an eyelid. Most people do plan for their children's marriage and education, but sometimes you cannot predict how much money you will need to fund it. My parents have created a strong diversified investment portfolio so that they are able to take care of all needs without having to compromise on anything.

This is exactly why financial planning for me too has never been a headache as I have my father who is the best guide in the world, and I have grown up watching the details so it kind of just comes easy to practice. However not everyone plans so well and sometimes when life throws adversities at us, it is important to take on the challenges head-on. The importance of savings and a plan for the future is always a must as it allows you to face difficulties better. This is exactly what this beautiful #KhudKoKarBuland video resonates.

If you haven't yet started planning out your future's finances, it's time you did! Don't wait for tough times to come your way to make you realize it's too late!
