My association with Nestlé’s Healthy Kids Programme dates back to 2016 and you all have seen me talk about the initiative since. They celebrated their tenth year anniversary last year, and I was happy to be a part of this commemoration. The Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme was started in 2009, to spread awareness on health and nutrition. In 2014, Nestlé partnered with the Magic Bus India Foundation with the aim to scale up their initiative.

#HealthyKids Means Healthy Futures!
Blogging has given me some of the most amazing experiences, and time and again I am glad that I made career choice that gives me a sense of fulfillment that no other job gave me. Giving back to society is something that I truly believe in, and time and again through the blog you have seen me join forces with brands for some amazing social causes that they associate with. I got to be a part of the Nestlé Healthy Kids initiative a few days ago and it was one of the most humbling experiences of my life.

The ideal way of giving! #ShramDaanDay
Bill Gates, Azim Premji, Mark Zuckerberg - what do they all have in common? Other than being industry leaders and very successful entrepreneurs, they all have committed to provide funds for causes that will make our world a better place. But then these are uber rich men and the practice of the rich and powerful providing support or ‘DAAN’ to the poor/needy has been a common practice in India since ages. However the feeling of doing something for the community is not just felt by the rich and powerful, it is also shared by millions of others who have all the good intentions but don't have the means to do so. When we speak about the millions, we have the lower strata from whom we don't expect much but the contributions that they have been making have taken me by total surprise. It's not been about money but they have done their bit by providing services and thus comes around the concept of Shram(services) Daan. It's surprising though that despite having the intent, I haven't seen or heard much of the in between strata that is the not so rich but earning well strata which I belong to, doing a collective effort like what I am going to tell you about :)

With the establishment of the Vodafone Foundation in India in 2007, it confirmed then and keeps up even today with the group's commitment to invest socially in the countries where it does business. Vodafone believes in 'Mobilising the community, mobilising social change.' The Vodafone Foundation in India harnesses the power of mobile technology to deal with some of our most pressing challenges relating to education, health, equality and access. They focus on 4 areas - m-women, m-education, m-health and m-agriculture, and tie up with charities, development agencies and the community to drive social change. ‘World of Difference’ is their unique employee engagement programme that focuses on disaster relief and implements.

Sending the girl child #BackToSchool
Being a girl and knowing how education has benefited me, I know how important it is for girls to be educated. I also now have a child who is a girl and I know I am going to leave no stone unturned as far as her education is concerned. Girl education is imperative not only in a country like India but worldwide too as 62 million girls around the world are not in schools. However, efforts in one's own country is the first step to empowering girls, and thus multiplying the impact on society and contributing to the world in our own way. Girls need to be educated for the interest of their families and their communities, thereby benefiting the nation.
