Lakmé 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color- Review and Swatches

I love love the Lakmé 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color range! In fact since it's launch in October last year, it has been a product range for me that I turn to nearly on an everyday basis. I juggle between the 3 shades that I have, and I vouch for how versatile, light weight and long lasting they are!

Lakmé's Weightless Mousse Foundation was anyway my favourite, and with the new Lakmé 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color, Lakmé has only added to its weightless range portfolio. The product comes in 10 gorgeous shade and choosing my favourites was quite a task. The liquid mousse texture gives way to a powdery matte texture after drying up and it honestly is weightless - you feel like there is nothing on your lips or your cheeks, yet the colour payoff is awesome! On application on the cheeks, the product blends in easily and leaves a beautiful tint that stays put through the day. On the lips, the result is an opaque matte finish that doesn't need a touch up for hours which at times even means the whole day. Despite a matte finish, it does not dry out the lips. However, do keep in mind that while it is long lasting, it is not transfer proof.

Here's a low down on the shades I own!

Rose Touch

This is my favourite shade - a rosy mauve colour with purplish undertones, perfect for everyday wear and that sophisticated look. It is great for day wear and suits all skin tones. I like it dark just like in the picture above, and so I tend to use 2 swipes for the desired effect.

Fuchsia Suede

This is a bright pink colour, and looks great whether worn in the night or day. This suits all skin tones and one swipe works for me perfectly. Need something to brighten up your face? Well, then this is your colour! Even with minimal makeup it looks great. I love to use it as a blush as well, but one needs to be careful not to go overboard with it.

Coffee Lite

The perfect coffee brown - I hadn't found one that looked so good on me, until this one came along. It looks great on tanned skin and works as a great nude colour for dark skin tones. I don't use it as a blush but I use it contour once in a while and it works great for that.

I had also liked the shade Blush Velvet, which I tried to get my hands on a couple of times because I loved how it looked on me at the launch, but that seemed to be sold out as the demand for it was crazy! It was the perfect nude for my skin tone and I hope I get it soon. This is how it looked on me at the launch.

Packaging

The packaging is tubular in shape and comprises of a nude plastic body with a rose gold cap. The packaging of all the shades looks the same, and I wish there was some way to know the shade, like a shade indicator strip, so that we could know the shade without having to turn the tube upside down every time we have to use the lipstick.

Applicator
The sponge applicator tip that you saw in the shades I own pictures above is amazing! It is the perfect size for lip application, picks up just the right amount of colour for application in one swipe, is easy and quick to use, and reaches the innermost corner of the lips without touching the outsides.

Pricing
Priced at INR 575/- for 9 gms, I think it is absolute value for money (and that is also why you are seeing me review it here 😉). You can buy these here - http://amzn.to/2tmpP1o

Lakmé India over the last few years has been making efforts to invent something new every season, that is easy to wear and flaunt, and trust me they are doing a fab job at it!
