My Definition of Power Dressing!

Floral Dress - Jabong
Heels - Romwe
Black Tote - Singleton Select

The Modern Power Dressing ideology is way different from what it was in the 1980s and 1990s. It is no more about masculine cuts, suit sets in black, blue or grey and shoulder pads. The definition has changed, and today it is about wearing what you love and the confidence that you exude, that gives more power to the way you represent yourself. Wearing colours, relaxed silhouettes, luxe materials and vibrant prints are becoming the norm.

Meetings are a regular affair for me be it for my blog or my business, and I find dresses one of the most comfortable and stylish options to wear. For a couple of meetings recently, I wore this floral dress that works both for office and out of it, and serves both formal and casual purposes. The pockets with trimmings add extra style to it. I added this gorgeous Singleton Select leather work tote because it would hold my ipad, diary and wallet, and it suited the outfit perfectly. Next came the heels - heels add instant appeal to an outfit, and adding a pair of basic black pumps to this dress was a no brainer. I chose to wear ones with a patent finish and a pointed toe for adding extra oomph. Some bright lipstick, pearls in the ears and I totally owned my outfit, and according to me 'Owning your look' is the definition of Power Dressing! :)
