Manish Malhotra kicks off LFW Summer/Resort 2016 with ‘ELEMENTS’, presented by #LYFSmartphones

I expect nothing but the best from Manish Malhotra and trust me he never ever disappoints! He only raises the bar further for himself with every collection of his and as usual he nothing short of dazzled everyone as he opened Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 with ‘ELEMENTS’ – his Spring/Summer 2016 Haute Couture collection. The show was presented in association with LYF Smartphones, whose range is also based on the elements of nature thus making them perfect partners as the association is an ideal blend of fashion with technology.

The first look of the stunning runaway created like the 'Tree of Life' with bird installations from the roof, and sound of birds chirping in the background was in perfect alignment with the theme of the collection and set the pace for the show. The collection was an absolutely mind blowing yet unexpected one with an uber glamorous appeal and the 70 ensembles created by Manish for a beautiful summer wedding had variations to traditional yet modern Indian couture. ‘ELEMENTS’ was the apt title given to the collection as it was inspired by Nature’s four elements – Earth, Water, Wind and Flame.

How to wear a Kurti differently!

Summer is just around the corner. In fact Mumbai is already facing the heat and our wardrobe choices are already being influenced by the summer like weather we are experiencing. Kurtis are one of my favourite pieces for summer and are an absolutely versatile item that look great paired with bottoms of different kinds. A kurti for women is a staple in India and I am sure all of you love to wear them too wither with salwars, jeans or leggings, but today I am going to show you some different ways to style your kurtis for casual and formal occassions and stand out from the crowd. While I do have loads of kurtis in my wardrobe, the kurti collection from BIBA for Spring Summer 2016 is so amazing, that I can't help but have lots of favourites which I have styled here.

The Happy Homes Blog - your destination for building a dream home!

It's only been two and a half years that I've spent in my current home, and the issues have already started to set in. Tiny cracks here and there, and dampness in certain sections of the wall have made me start to think about repairs and renovations which the house needs urgently, since I have a toddler in the house who is trying her best to pull out all the peeling scraps. The research for the same began a couple of months ago but because of Aryaa being around, there are no corners being cut in terms of understanding what all needs to be done as I want nothing but the best being used and done for the corrections to be made. In the midst of all this, the top home maintenance brands of Pidilite Industries Ltd, Dr. Fixit and Roff  invited me for the launch of ‘The Happy Homes Blog’ - http://thehappyhomes.co.in/ last month, the perfect reference guide for people like me to renovate, build and maintain their home.

If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail! #KhudKoKarBuland

If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail! There cannot be a saying more true!

The most unexpected things, good or bad, happen when you least expect them to happen. The only way to deal with adverse situations is to be prepared for them. Like my father always tell me you should always drive carefully not because you are a bad driver, on the contrary you are a good driver, but because there are many idiots driving on the road, you need to protect your car from them :) So, the ideal way to prepare for facing tough situations is to plan in advance and be prepared.
