Street Style My Way!

Outfit - Max Fashions, Silver Cuff - Goa, Earrings - Linking Road, Silk Brocade Chappals - Colaba Causeway

Greenery, water bodies, flamingos and more, right in the middle of my city - unbelievable but true - yet the perfect way to describe Navi Mumbai! I die to come back to this place I call home at the end of a long day for the peace that it gives me. Getting out on the streets here for me is actually like a rendezvous with nature, much different from the hustle bustle of neighbouring Mumbai which is a hop skip and jump away. Street style for me for my escapades here would be an ensemble which marries the comfort of a boho chic outfit with Indian elements. What you see in my outfit here is this very quality where combining a colourful flowy layered singlet top with a comfortable black embroidered palazzo, pairing it with Indian silk brocade chappals in blue and gold, and jhumkas in the ears just results in an absolutely chic look which is 'Street Style' my way! Add to that the tiara, and I am like a forest nymph prancing around, creating my own path. Max Fashions is my go-to brand when it comes to stocking my wardrobe with looks like these where I can pick up some really great yet reasonable pieces for my looks that are #MaxStreetStyle perfect! I love their flowy skirts from the Indian section, their printed palazzos and culottes, and their block printed anarkalis that can be converted into maxis too. As far as my accessories go, most of the ones bought for my street style looks are bought off the streets just as in this look.

When I received the invite to #MaxRoadToParis with the theme being street style, I found it as a perfect chance to share my kind of street style with you guys. It is a path I am on now, and hope you guys love this entry enough to send me to Paris! I am also glad a brand thinks its important for us bloggers to be part of world famous events like the Paris Fashion Week and give us an opportunity to be a part of it alongwith pushing our creativity. This definitely has to be one of my favourite collaborations with Max Fashions:)

Make-up games at the Shoppers Stop Makeover Fest

The weekend was a weekend well spent. Those of you who follow me on twitter, instagram and facebook got a glimpse into what I was upto, but those of you who don't, here is all of it spelt out right for you.

As a child, make-up fascinated me. Whenever my mom used to buy make-up, she used to take me along knowing how much I used to wait to go along with her and see her try products. Sometimes the counter ladies would be nice enough to try some on me too. But I would always wish I was older so that I could get a whole new look every time like my gorgeous mom, as she would try different products from different brands and finally have a pouch full of products for a while. Brands then were few and so were the variety of products and sadly the store she used to go to also shut down a few years later. After that started the habit of calling for products from abroad when my cousins would come over but I missed the whole feeling of trying and buying. My first makeover experience happened in the US and I never experienced anything like that in India till Shoppers Stop started placing the best brands under its roof. That's even more so the reason as to why I was so glad to be a part of the Shoppers Stop Makeover Fest at the Malad store the last weekend. The fest was from the 24th to 26th May and I attended it on the 25th. They had the best of brands to give people the best experience possible - Lancome, Guerlain, Shiseido, Dior, Elizabeth Arden and Givenchy. No wonder it was called 'The Ultimate Makeover'!

I have been wanting to try out quite a few products from Dior for a really long time but mommyhood kept pushing my plans further and further away, so this was my perfect chance to fulfill that wish of mine. It was time for some Dior loving that day and they had the cutest booth that made me feel like a total star!

Set to begin sans Make-up!

Ta-Da - Makeover Complete!

The experts at Dior created a winged liner but no kajal with glossy lips, rosy cheeks and loads of mascara day look on me which had a very fresh appeal to it. What I loved about my makeover was that I didn't miss not wearing Kajal which is one thing I always thought I can't live without. I finally also got to experience the Dior Airflash foundation which makes you photo perfect and you can give the concealer a skip depending on the amount of coverage that you go for. It has a spray pump mechanism which gives the foundation a mousse like feel on spraying and also helps avoid wastage.

Neon Top - Cotton On, Singapore
Distressed Denims - Only
Gold Loafers - Pavers England

If you guys got a chance to head to the #SSMakeoverFest, do share your experience with me. If not, then no worries because you can still head to the Shoppers Stop outlets across the country to check out the awesome brands they offer to you under a single roof. Their amazing experts will help you look your best!

The Piku Collection by Melange by Lifestyle and my inspired look

The country is going gaga over Piku and Shoojit Sircar has proved that he knows how to hit the right chord with the audience by bringing out fresh concepts to watch. Having an exceptional star cast has also worked for this movie as Amitabh Bacchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan would be any director's Dream Team for a movie like Piku. While I can go on raving about the movie, I am going to touch on my next favourite part of the movie which should be an obvious - Deepika's look!

I was recently invited to the unveiling of the 'Piku Inspired Collection by Melange by Lifestyle' by Deepika and Irrfan and I really liked the look created for her character. Deepika's look in the movie is stylish, functional and comfortable and is a perfect marriage of modern meets ethnic. I loved her easy breezy style with kurtis, palazzos, jeans, jackets and scarves seamlessly paired together for a very realistic approach to her character. Here's what Deepika had to say about her look!

A video posted by Ritcha@RitchStyles (@ritcha) on

There was a fashion show to take us through the entire Piku collection which was heavily dominated by black, white and red and there were quite a few pieces that caught my eye. Deepika also crowned the winner of the Piku Melange contest held by Lifestyle.

Lifestyle also let me choose from the Piku Collection by Melange and here is what I put together inspired by Deepika's look in the movie :) I went with the quintessential combination of black and white by combining a classic Chikan kurta with black linen pants and a black bandi(jacket) with tassles and white block print on it.

In case one wants, one can also add a black dupatta to it to give it a more ethnic touch.

I've put together a casual Indian look for the first time on my blog and it's been quite good fun. As always Melange by Lifestyle gave me a fantastic collection to choose from and I am looking forward to adding some more pieces to my wardrobe. The black linen pants are so comfortable that I am practically living in them now and it can be paired with a T-shirt or a short kurti too. While I go and pick up some more pieces for myself, this is a collection that I would surely recommend for you girls to go check out too!
